The game before you was an attempt by Gottlieb Manufacturing to tap into the popular game of bowling in the format of a pinball machine! This unusual game was designed by Ray Tanzer and John Buras, with the art package by Mitchell Constantino. Only 750 were made. Players can choose from standard Regulation Play, Flash, or Strike 90 game variations with up to four potential “bowlers”. The game can be adjusted by the operator for competition play, tournament rules or redemption rules, which enabled players to win tickets to be exchanged for prizes back in the day. The flippers on this machine were “beefed up” to compensate for the weight and size of the “bowling balls” used in the game, which are larger than standard pinballs.
