This bowling themed machine designed by Norm Clark (his first design by the way) is a classic complete with gobble holes, center shooter, five special shots, and four polished chrome flippers (a first!). 1,250 of these beauties were fabricated. The rules of engagement center on scoring strikes by completing all ten center playfield rollovers or by completing ten spares by hitting the lit targets and appropriate rollovers. Completing two strikes alternatively lights the gobble holes to score a special if hit. Three strikes scores one another replay and lights the top center rollover for a special. Each strike scored past the three strikes awards another replay. If you’re skillful enough to score all ten spares, the bottom drains light alternately to score a special if hit. This single player game is fast paced and symmetrical in layout, but a challenge to play. Completing a strike is not as easy as one might envision as each rollover must be hit correctly to score each pin. Your progress may be seen on the backglass as to what pins are needed to complete each strike. Not a classic game of ten pin, but a pinball version of the game.
